Date from 4 giant banks for a historic peak ahead! New record in gram gold on the horizon

Gold investors are all ears for statements from global giants. Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and UBS have updated their medium- and long-term forecasts for gold in light of central banks' relentless physical purchases and uncertainties in the global economy. As the market debates whether short-term pullbacks are a cause for panic or a new opportunity, the historic peaks these major institutions point to for the coming years have resonated across the markets.

As fluctuations in global markets continue, gold investors are keeping their ears to the ground for news from the world's giants. Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, and UBS have one after another updated their medium and long-term forecasts for gold prices.

REASON FOR PANIC OR A BUYING OPPORTUNITY?

According to new scenarios triggered by record-level central bank purchases and uncertainties in the global economy, an ounce of gold is expected to reach levels of $5,600 by 2027. For an ounce of gold, which closed the week at $4,604, any potential declines are, according to the major institutions, not a reason for panic but merely buying opportunities.

MORGAN STANLEY'S FORECAST

Noting that an ounce of gold has reached its fourth-quarter target of $4,450 much earlier, Morgan Stanley predicts that this strong momentum in the market will continue. With central banks in countries like China and Poland accelerating their gold purchases and investors once again turning to the safe haven, it is stated that prices could easily surpass the $5,000 mark in 2027. However, the institution's experts also warn investors that inflation data coming from the US could cause sharp and sudden fluctuations in the markets.

WELLS FARGO'S FORECAST

Wells Fargo, which has updated its expectations regarding the interest rate steps the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will take in the coming years, has made a slight adjustment to its gold forecasts. The institution has revised its target for the end of 2026 to a range of $4,900 to $5,100, and for 2027 to a range of $5,400 to $5,600. Despite this minor revision stemming from interest rate hike expectations, the bank emphasizes that gold will certainly not break away from its long-lasting upward trend.

GOLDMAN SACHS'S FORECAST

Goldman Sachs, which has set a target of $4,900 for gold by the end of 2026, receives strong signals that even this figure could be exceeded. Especially the uninterrupted gold accumulation by central banks and the participation of Western investors in this trend could drive prices much higher. The bank reminds that a wave of buying in the market could have a snowball effect and send prices soaring, but profit-taking at the same speed could also bring sharp declines, emphasizing that the market's volatility will increase.

UBS'S FORECAST

Swiss-based UBS, which argues that potential pullbacks in gold prices should not scare investors, states that a possible decline towards $4,000 levels does not mean the uptrend has broken. On the contrary, according to the bank, such corrections offer a golden opportunity for those considering long-term investments to build positions. Foreseeing that demand for gold will remain robust with a weakening dollar and falling interest yields, UBS identifies $4,000 as a solid bottom, while predicting that the $5,000 mark will be reached in the first half of 2027.

IF FORECASTS COME TRUE, HOW MUCH WILL GRAM GOLD BE?

These historic peaks indicated by foreign institutions for an ounce of gold, when calculated using an exchange rate of 48.04 lira per dollar, create a completely different picture for gram gold investors in the domestic market. According to calculations based on the formula where one ounce of gold equals 31.1 grams, if the highest peak forecast of $5,600 on the table for 2027 materializes, gram gold in the domestic market is expected to approach the 8,650 lira limit.

HISTORIC PEAKS COULD BE SEEN

The institutions' other targets also point to gradual records. In the $5,000 scenario envisaged by Morgan Stanley and UBS, gram gold would rise to 7,723 lira, while Goldman Sachs's target of $4,900 would move the price to the 7,569 lira band.

Even at the $4,000 level, which UBS sees as the strongest support zone for the market and where pullbacks would offer buying opportunities, gram gold forms a base above 6,179 lira. This expectation of a global rally in ounce gold, combined with current exchange rate levels, opens the door to historic peaks in gram gold.
