Search efforts for Uğur Çalışkan, who went missing in Antakya district of Hatay on February 19, continue for 90 days. Although clothes belonging to Çalışkan, who disappeared after leaving the hotel where he was staying with his cousins through a window, were found in the forest, he could not be reached. Searches involving AFAD, gendarmerie, and volunteers continue in Fırnız Plateau and its surroundings.
The search efforts for Uğur Çalışkan (27), who went missing on February 19 in the Antakya district of Hatay, continue for the 90th day.
NO NEWS AFTER LEAVING THE APARTMENT HOTEL
Uğur Çalışkan, who came from Van to Hatay for work, left his room on the 2nd floor of the apartment hotel where he was staying with his cousins in the Serinyol neighborhood of Antakya district by climbing out of the window into the garden early in the morning on February 19, 2026. After a while, Çalışkan attempted to climb back to the room using the building's exterior facade but, failing to do so, left the area.
CLOTHES FOUND
In the morning, his cousins, unable to see Çalışkan, reviewed the security camera footage and then reported the situation to the police. Following the missing person report, search efforts were launched in the area by gendarmerie, AFAD, and volunteer teams. On the 7th day of the search, clothes identified as belonging to Çalışkan were found in the forest near the Serinyol neighborhood.
Since that day, search efforts involving 24 AFAD personnel, 35 gendarmerie personnel, and 14 NGO volunteers continue in the area considered the 'first footprint' in Fırnız Plateau, as well as in valleys and mountainous areas. However, despite 90 days having passed, no other trace of Çalışkan has been found.
