In the Urla district of İzmir, during a joint operation by the gendarmerie and MIT, a drug dealer with a finalized 25-year prison sentence who was preparing to flee abroad was caught using a fake identity. In a search of the suspect's home, a drug setup with a climate control system and cannabis were seized.

25-YEAR FUGITIVE DRUG TRAFFICKER CAUGHT
In line with the coordination and instructions of the Urla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a raid was conducted on a pre-determined address in Kadıovacık District of Urla district on July 5, 2026. The individual named Ş.G.Ş., who had a final prison sentence of 25 years for drug trafficking and was determined to be preparing to flee abroad illegally, was caught red-handed with a fake identity and taken into custody as a result of meticulous tracking by gendarmerie and MİT units.
SET UP A DRUG GREENHOUSE IN HIS HOME
In detailed searches conducted at the residence where the drug trafficker was hiding, it was determined that a special mechanism for drug production had been set up in the house. During the searches, 2 kilograms of cannabis resin and materials and equipment used for producing narcotics through climate control methods were seized. Following his procedures at the gendarmerie, the detained Ş.G.Ş. was arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison.
