In the Santiago province of Chile, 30-year-old José Vergara Acevedo experienced a horrific accident while returning home from work. As Acevedo entered the elevator and pressed the floor button, the doors did not close. Before the young man could understand what was happening, the elevator shot up rapidly. THE ELEVATOR CRASHED INTO THE ROOF AFTER CLIMBING 30 FLOORSThe man's efforts to stop the elevator by pressing all the buttons were in vain. The out-of-control elevator crashed into the roof after climbing 30 floors in just 15 seconds. Those moments were recorded second by second by security cameras. THE YOUNG MAN WILL NEVER WALK AGAINIt was reported that Acevedo suffered serious spinal, waist, and hip injuries and is highly likely to never walk again. Following the horrific incident, it was learned that the building was constructed 8 months before the accident and that there had been previous malfunctions in the elevator.
