A fire broke out in an Airbus A340 passenger aircraft that was converted into an aviation and science center after completing its flight life in Çayırova district of Kocaeli. Flames quickly engulfed the aircraft, and firefighting teams launched extinguishing efforts. During the intervention, the aircraft's tail broke off and fell onto a fire truck. Efforts to bring the fire under control are ongoing.
Moment of terror unfolded at UçakPark in Kocaeli as the giant aircraft was engulfed in flames. While firefighting teams intervened in the fire that surrounded the Airbus A340 passenger plane, the separation of the aircraft's tail section increased the extent of the danger.
AIRBUS A340 ENGULFED BY FLAMES
The fire broke out at UçakPark, located on Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu Street in Şekerpınar Neighborhood, Çayırova district of Kocaeli. A fire started for an undetermined reason on the Airbus A340 passenger plane, which had begun to be used as an aviation and science center after completing its flight life. Firefighting teams were dispatched to the region upon reports from those who saw the flames rising from the plane. As the fire grew, the flames engulfed a large part of the aircraft.

The Airbus A340 where the fire broke out was not an aircraft used for active passenger transport. The passenger plane, which had completed its flight life, was later placed in UçakPark to be used as an aviation and science center. Here, the plane was used as one of the important parts of the center that introduced aviation to visitors. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
