Morocco came from behind Tuesday to beat Malawi 2-1 to reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals.

Malawi broke the deadlock with Frank Mhango's goal kick in the seventh minute at Yaounde's Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.

Youssef En Nesyri leveled in the 45th minute and Achraf Hakimi scored the winner in the 70th minute for the Moroccan team.

Morocco will take on the winner of the Ivory Coast and Egypt match in the next round.

Cameroon is hosting the 33rd edition of Africa's flagship competition held every two years.

The final will take place Feb. 6 at Yaounde's Olembe Stadium. -
