Moscow warned openly: We can strike British military facilities

27.08.2026 17:51

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that in response to Ukraine's attacks on Russian territory using British weapons, British military facilities and equipment both inside and outside Ukraine could be targeted. Zakharova, who argued that Britain is a direct party to the war in Ukraine, stated that if NATO troops are deployed to Ukraine, these units would become "legitimate military targets".

A harsh message came from Russia that could further escalate tensions with England. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova targeted England's military support to Ukraine during her weekly press conference in Moscow.

Zakharova stated that the Ukrainian army has carried out attacks against Russia with British weapons, and said that in response, British military facilities could be targeted.

Russia issues harsh warning to England

"BRITISH MILITARY FACILITIES COULD BE TARGETED"

Reminding that England has been sending Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine since 2023, Zakharova said London plans to provide Kiev with the information necessary for the production of these missiles.

Zakharova, arguing that the Ukrainian army has been targeting Russian territory with these weapons, used the following statements:

"In response to Ukraine's attacks on Russian territory with British weapons, British military facilities and equipment located in Ukraine and outside the country could be targeted."

The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman also said, "Those who commit war crimes against the civilian population of our country will be duly punished."

ACCUSED FRANCE, ENGLAND AND GERMANY

In her statements, Zakharova targeted not only England but also France and Germany.

Arguing that the three countries are fueling tensions regarding Ukraine, Zakharova claimed that Paris and London cannot escape responsibility for attacks against Russia by providing military systems to Kiev.

Using the expressions "Paris, London, Berlin and other countries are directly responsible for terrorist attacks," Zakharova called on England to abandon its policy towards Russia.

STERN WARNING FOR NATO SOLDIERS TOO

Another notable message from Russia came regarding the possibility of sending NATO soldiers to Ukraine.

Stating that the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine is unacceptable for Moscow, Zakharova said, "These troops will become legitimate military targets."

REACTION TO FINNISH PRESIDENT STUBB

Finnish President Alexander Stubb's remarks that Ukraine's drone attacks on Russian infrastructure increase the cost of the war for Moscow and should be supported were also on Zakharova's agenda.

Zakharova said, "If Stubb considers attacks on civilian elements and civilians justified, then he is a terrorist."
