In Eyüpsultan, 32-year-old motorcycle rider Yakup Özdoğan crashed into the rear of a light commercial vehicle ahead of him, then veered and fell in front of a car. Özdoğan, who was seriously injured, could not be saved at the hospital where he was taken. His older brother Muhsin Özdoğan said that 3 drivers were involved in the accident and that his brother was trapped under a vehicle. Özdoğan will be buried next to his older brother, who died in a motorcycle accident 10 years ago in his hometown of Malatya.
A motorcycle rider lost his life in an accident that occurred in Eyüpsultan during the night hours. His family is waiting for it to become clear how the accident happened.
REAR-ENDED A LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLE
On the Güzeltepe Hasdal-Okmeydanı connection road, at around 00:00 on October 21, the motorcycle ridden by Yakup Özdoğan allegedly rear-ended a light commercial vehicle driven by F.T. Özdoğan, who was thrown and dragged on the ground by the impact of the crash, fell in front of a car driven by C.Ç.
Following a report by those nearby, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Özdoğan, who was found to be seriously injured in the medical teams' initial check, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
HE DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
Yakup Özdoğan, who was taken under treatment at the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. Özdoğan's body, taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute, was handed over to his family after the autopsy.
“HE CALLED ME 1 HOUR BEFORE THE ACCIDENT SAYING ‘MY MOTORCYCLE IS BROKEN’”
His elder brother Muhsin Özdoğan recounted that his brother had called him shortly before the accident. Özdoğan said, “He was going to his friend's place. He called me 1 hour before the accident and said, ‘My motorcycle is broken.’ I said, ‘I'm coming to help.’ Then he said, ‘Okay, I've handled it,’ and set off; 1 hour later he had the accident. After the hospital police called me, I went immediately.”
“THE INCIDENT INVOLVES 3 SEPARATE DRIVERS”
Muhsin Özdoğan, saying that the accident was not caused by a fault in the motorcycle and that statements were taken from 3 people, claimed that his brother was first pressured, then got under another vehicle. Özdoğan said, “It is truly a painful situation; whatever a person says after this point is empty. May God not give this to anyone. The incident involves 3 separate drivers. 1 driver pressures him, he hits a parked vehicle on the right side. According to what the officers there conveyed, after my brother fell off the motorcycle, another vehicle ran him over. But not everything is completely clear. Once it is clear, we will learn again.”

Muhsin Özdoğan, noting that this was not the family's first pain, said, “His hometown was Malatya. My late elder brother also died in a motorcycle accident 10 years ago. He will be buried next to him.”

The funeral prayer for Yakup Özdoğan was performed on Friday, October 23, at the Yeşiltepe City Cemetery Mosque in his hometown of Malatya after the noon prayer. Özdoğan was buried after the funeral prayer.
