LAST SITUATION AFTER THE PKK'S DECISION TO DISBAND
Ministry sources stated the following regarding the latest situation on the ground after the terrorist organization PKK's decision to lay down arms:
The developments on the ground following the disbandment decision of the terrorist organization are being closely monitored in coordination with all institutions, and all necessary measures are being taken. There is an increase in the number of terrorists surrendering. Our search-and-rescue and cave-clearing operations are also ongoing.
TURKEY-LIBYA MARITIME JURISDICTION AGREEMENT
Sources from the Ministry of National Defense made the following assessments regarding the news that the Haftar side is also reviewing the Turkey-Libya Maritime Jurisdiction Agreement:
The Memorandum of Understanding on the Delimitation of Maritime Jurisdiction Areas, signed between our country and Libya in 2019, is a fair agreement that protects the rights of both countries arising from international law. In the mentioned Memorandum of Understanding, when determining maritime areas, the median line between the mainlands was taken as a basis, and Libya's rights have been fully protected against the maximalist demands of other countries. Our alliance with Libya, based on historical ties, has also been certified by the seas within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding. We welcome the Haftar side's decision to review this and are closely monitoring developments.
LAST SITUATION IN SYRIA
Ministry sources stated the following regarding the latest situation in Syria:
As Turkey, our primary goal is to protect the territorial integrity and unity of Syria, to enhance Syria's security capacity, and to ensure cooperation in the fight against terrorism between the two countries. We remind that there will be no tolerance for the abuse of the integration process of the terrorist organization YPG/SDF with the new Syrian administration, and we emphasize once again that there is no decrease in Turkey's determination in the fight against terrorism.
