The leader of the Homeland Party, Muharrem İnce, joined the CHP today during a group meeting, approximately 4.5 years after his resignation. CHP leader Özgür Özel stated, "I cannot pin a badge on Muharrem İnce because he has had it on his forehead since he was born." İnce responded, "I did not come here today with arrogance, regret, or a personal agenda. I came here with the sincere and heartfelt invitation of Mr. Özel."

Four years and four months after resigning from the CHP, the leader of the Homeland Party, Muharrem İnce, joined the CHP today. İnce's return to the CHP was met with applause from party members, while CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who opened the group meeting, took the first word and welcomed İnce with "Welcome."

Following Özel, İnce took the podium and stated, "I did not come here today with arrogance or regret. I did not come with a personal agenda. I came with the sincere and heartfelt invitation of Mr. Özel. Separations sometimes occur due to resentments. My coming here today is to relieve a longing. We have never given up on Atatürk from the light of a pair of blue eyes. I am here for your wrist that will not be bent today. There is no salvation alone; either we all stand together or none of us," he expressed.

HE RESIGNED FROM CHP IN 2021

Muharrem İnce resigned from the CHP on February 8, 2021. Before this decision, İnce initiated the 'Homeland Movement' on September 4, 2020, and shortly after, he founded the Homeland Party. He participated in the 2023 general elections with his own list under the party established on May 17, 2021. İnce, who ran as the leader of his party in the elections, made headlines by withdrawing his candidacy at the last moment.

Muharrem İnce's political career largely shaped under the CHP. He stepped into politics as the CHP Yalova Provincial Chairman and served as a Yalova Member of Parliament between 2002-2018. He held the position of CHP Group Deputy Chairman between 2010-2014. İnce, who ran for the CHP Chairmanship in 2014 and 2018, competed as the party's candidate in the 2018 presidential elections.

Before joining the CHP, İnce chaired the Homeland Party's Central Committee meeting yesterday. In the meeting, a decision was made to dissolve the Homeland Party. According to the information obtained, the Homeland Party will dissolve itself at the extraordinary congress to be held in July.
