Following U.S. President Donald Trump's statement that "the war is largely over," oil prices quickly fell by about $30 while gold rose again.

US President Donald Trump's statements regarding the potential end of the war with Iran caused sharp movements in global markets. Following Trump's words that "the war is largely over," oil prices quickly fell while gold prices rose again.

"I THINK THE WAR IS LARGELY OVER"

US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with CBS News that the war against Iran could soon come to an end. In his statement, Trump said, "I think the war is largely over, it's almost finished. They have no navies, no communications, and no air forces." Trump's remarks created significant volatility in the energy markets.

OIL PRICES FELL SHARPLY

Following Trump's comments about the potential end of the war, oil prices quickly dropped. Brent crude oil lost more than 10% of its value, falling to around $83. Just a day earlier, due to concerns that the war threatened energy supply, Brent crude oil had risen to $119.50, and WTI crude oil had reached $119.48, marking the highest levels since mid-2022.

GOLD PRICES ROSE AGAIN

Despite the drop in oil prices, gold prices entered an upward trend again. The price of gold per ounce rose to $5,188, recovering the losses from the previous trading day. In the domestic market, the price of gold per gram is trading at around 7,325 lira.
