A harsh polemic began between Sinan Akçıl, who composed a march called "Turks Are Coming" before the World Cup tournament, and rapper Murda. While Murda addressed Akçıl as 'Brother Fly,' the famous pop singer used the words, 'You need concrete to compare your nationalism with mine.'
In his recent statements, Sinan Akçıl, who said the national anthem should be his own song, claimed that team captains Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Merih Demiral pressured for the selection of rapper Murda's song. Akçıl made a big impact with his words, "So they decided on the anthem." Following Sinan Akçıl's remarks, the controversy extended beyond the music world and occupied the football agenda.
MURDA'S FIERY RESPONSE DID NOT DELAY
Addressing Sinan Akçıl as "Brother Fly," Murda expressed his grievance by saying, "Wasn't the national anthem supposed to be a matter of the heart? You were saying no one should profit from this. You made the most profit from it." Unable to hold back, Murda further fueled the debate by stating, "You need a backbone. Go play backgammon at home. Don't mess with me." The crisis between the two figures grew increasingly.
AKÇIL SPOKE WITHOUT RESTRAINT
Akçıl targeted Murda with harsh words. Saying, "In Turkish music history, you can only be my errand boy," Akçıl used phrases like, "The person who tries to sing the national anthem wearing an English shirt, whom I cannot call 'dear.'" Continuing his remarks, Akçıl slammed Murda by stating, "Comparing your nationalism with mine requires concrete."
