UEFA's 7 million Euro fine to Fenerbahçe has sparked harsh debates within the club.
THEY FACED OFF
It was reported that mutual accusations occurred between former president Ali Koç's team and President Aziz Yıldırım regarding the rejection of financial articles. Ali Koç's team pointed to articles 11, 12, and 13, which were rejected at the September 2025 congress, claiming that the veto of these articles halted the expected revenue flow from property sales and projects. Consequently, it was stated that the financial statements deteriorated and UEFA's 70% financial burden limit was exceeded, reaching 84%. This situation was argued to have directly led to the limit violation and the fine.
BARIŞ GÖKTÜRK'S RESPONSE
Fenerbahçe Vice President Barış Göktürk, on the other hand, placed the responsibility on previous administrations. He stated that both the last summer transfer moves of Ali Koç's term and Sadettin Saran's winter period expenditures triggered this financial penalty.
THE POLEMIC CAUSED CONCERN
Beyond the polemic, although the yellow-navy team wants to strengthen the squad with the championship goal, there are serious restrictions in transfers due to both financial limits and the foreign player quota. While fans await new reinforcements, this tension in the management has caused concern within the community.
