Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used threatening language in a statement to the U.S. press. Stating that there are red lines regarding Hamas's disarmament, Netanyahu said, "If they don't do this, there will be hell to pay. But I hope it won't come to that. I hope we can do this peacefully. We are definitely ready for that."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made statements regarding current issues in an interview with the US-based news channel CBS.

"HAMAS' DISARMAMENT IS OUR RED LINE"

Referring to the ceasefire process in Gaza, Netanyahu stated, "We agreed to give peace a chance. We said, let's complete the first part and now let's give the second part a chance." He expressed that there are red lines regarding Hamas's disarmament in the upcoming process, saying, "First, Hamas needs to give up its weapons. Second, it must be ensured that there are no weapons factories in Gaza. There should be no arms smuggling into Gaza. This is disarmament," he said.

NETANYAHU'S THREATENING STATEMENT

Regarding what would happen if Hamas refuses to disarm, Netanyahu referred to the words previously spoken by US President Donald Trump, saying, "Then all hell will break loose. But I hope it won't come to that. I hope we can do this peacefully. We are absolutely ready for this." Netanyahu stated that establishing peace in the region would be "the greatest gift that could be given to the people of Israel, the people of the region, and the people of the world."

"FREEDOM IS NOT PERMANENT OR AUTOMATIC"

In response to the question of what is needed to declare the end of the war, Netanyahu answered, "I believe that in the foreseeable future, the ability to defend oneself must be preserved, not only for Israel but also for the free and civilized world. Because freedom is not permanent or automatic. If you cannot defend free societies, they will be taken over by authoritarian or totalitarian regimes," he evaluated.

"MY DUTY IS TO PROTECT THE JEWISH STATE"

In response to a reminder of Trump's statement that he is "not an easy person" during his speech in the Israeli Parliament, Netanyahu said, "So, I hope he says that because I am very strict on issues concerning the future of my country. When I believe what I am told is true, I say 'it is true,' and when I think I should say 'no,' I say that. This is my job. My duty is to protect the Jewish state and secure the future of the Jewish people."
