Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks about Iran and U.S. President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News drew attention. Netanyahu made harsh assessments regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities and the Washington administration's stance.
"IRAN IS 50 NORTH KOREAS"
Pointing to Iran through the example of North Korea, Netanyahu stated, "Look, nobody stopped North Korea, and now they have ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads. But they are not saying 'death to America.' Iran is worth 50 North Koreas. Iran is determined to destroy you."
Arguing that Iran poses a much greater threat to the U.S. and the West, Netanyahu said that leaders need to recognize this reality.
"TRUMP DOES WHAT HE THINKS IS RIGHT"
Referring to U.S. President Donald Trump, Netanyahu said, "Whether people understand it or not, leaders need to grasp this. Donald Trump understands it. You don't need to force him to do anything; nobody can do that anyway. He does what he thinks is right."
Netanyahu's statements were interpreted as messages indicating close coordination along the Washington-Tel Aviv line during a period of ongoing military and diplomatic tension towards Iran.
