The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the eagerly awaited inflation data for February. According to the announced figures, inflation in February was calculated at 2.96%, while the annual inflation rate was calculated at 31.53%.

According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) (2025=100) in February 2026 was an increase of 2.96% compared to the previous month, an increase of 7.95% compared to December of the previous year, an increase of 31.53% compared to the same month of the previous year, and an increase of 33.39% based on twelve-month averages.

CPI INCREASED BY 36.44% ANNUALLY IN FOOD AND NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

The annual changes in the three main expenditure groups with the highest weight; an increase of 36.44% in food and non-alcoholic beverages, an increase of 28.86% in transportation, and an increase of 42.33% in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels. The contributions of the relevant main expenditure groups to the annual change were 9.07 for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 4.63 for transportation, and 6.24 percentage points for housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels.
