In the case regarding the murder of Narin Güran in Diyarbakır, Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison, has had his family leave the village for security reasons. Bahtiyar's son, Ferhat Bahtiyar, stated, "Justice has been served. He received the punishment he deserved."

In the Tavşantepe Village of the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır, the court announced its decision regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing after attending a Quran course and was found dead in the bed of the Eğertutmaz Stream 19 days later. Mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and uncle Salim Güran were each sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for complicity in murder.

Ferhat Bahtiyar said, "Justice has been served. He received the punishment he deserved. My father received this sentence because he told the truth about everything and accepted his punishment. However, we were not allowed to attend the hearing. The court panel and lawyers said we should not attend the hearing due to concerns that there would be problems."
