Nevzat Bahtiyar's lawyer revealed the background of his mysterious messages.

In the case of the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found 19 days after going missing in Diyarbakır, the detained defendants, mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran, were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional murder of a child in participation." The detained defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison.

ATTENTION-GRABBING MESSAGES FROM NEVZAT BAHTIYAR'S LAWYER

Bahtiyar's lawyer, Ali Eryılmaz, had made attention-grabbing posts regarding the process of the case and afterwards. After sharing the message "The body buried in the silence of the stream, two cold witnesses left on it," he also used the expression "A riddle waiting to be solved, sealed with the prayers of four shadows," raising curiosity about who the two witnesses and four shadows he referred to belong to.

"I MADE QUOTES FROM A NOVEL"

Ali Eryılmaz, Bahtiyar's lawyer, explained the background of his posts to CNN TÜRK Istanbul News Director Nihat Uludağ, stating; "Actually, I had made a statement before. The other defendant's lawyer had expressed that he could solve the murder in 45 steps. If you remember, it was Salim Güran's defense attorney. I had said at that time that this could only be the title of a novel. There could be a novel titled 'Murder in 45 Steps,' it doesn't mean anything else to me. Actually, we can say that the things I shared are somewhat quotes from the novel 'Murder in 45 Steps.' How are they quotes? They were quotes about topics that were not mentioned or discussed in the trial.

"4 PEOPLE GOT INTO THE CAR AND WENT TO THE STREAMSIDE IN THE EVENING"

Actually, I was trying to make an allegory there. Nevzat Bahtiyar had said that he placed one stone, but you know that three stones were found on the corpse. This means that two more stones were placed on top later. Actually, the secret witness was those two stones. The other four shadows were also not much talked about during the trial; you know that DNA from four other people was found in the vehicle with the license plate 47 used by Salim Güran. One of them was Devran Güran, Kurtuluş Güran, Muhammed Kaya, and Salim Güran's own DNA was found. My claim has always been this: These four people got into the car and went to the streamside in the evening. And they went to place the other two stones on top of Narin, who had one stone placed on her, to camouflage her by covering her with branches and twigs. I believe that the remaining DNA was left from that night.

If it had been an ordinary murder case, an entire family and an entire village would not have bothered to hide the killer. What is actually being hidden here, I think, is not so much the killer but the reason for the murder. This was a much more serious danger for them. Whenever I emphasized 'honor' while making my defense, the family members immediately became agitated. They suddenly go out of control. They become very irritable. The reason for that murder is very important to them. Therefore, they tried to camouflage this. The reason for the murder was very, very important for these defendants.
