Speaking after the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı announced that appointments were made to 8 provincial headquarters, the congress calendar would be announced in September, and an investigation was being conducted regarding the referral of PM members to YDK. Sarı stated that they continue their efforts to initiate the congress calendar in CHP, saying, 'At the beginning of September, perhaps within the coming week, we can also give the exact date.'
Republican People's Party (CHP) Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı announced that appointments were made to the provincial chairmanships of Ardahan, Çankırı, Erzincan, Kahramanmaraş, Karabük, Kırklareli, Kilis, and Kocaeli.
The CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) convened under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Following the meeting that lasted approximately 4 hours, CHP Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made statements to the press.
"CHP HAS SIGNED THE TEXT"
Sarı stated that the current situation of the country and internal party matters were on the agenda of the MYK meeting, which lasted about 4 hours. Reminding that the framework law regarding the Terror-Free Turkey process was submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), Sarı said, "With the signatures of our group chairman, both of our deputy group chairmen, and our Justice Commission Spokesperson Mr. İnan Alp, the Republican People's Party has also signed this text. As you know, the issue constituting the basis of the Terror-Free Turkey process is a multi-dimensional problem, and the Republican People's Party is a party that has embraced this problem the most and spoken the bravest words on this matter in the most difficult times."
"CONGRESS CALENDAR WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER"
Sarı stated that they continue their efforts to initiate the congress calendar in CHP, saying, "Our aim is to bring our organization to a maturity where our party can start its congresses by the end of August. In this context, we may give the exact date at the beginning of September, perhaps within the coming week. Because there are also organizational arrangements. By completing these arrangements, we will announce a congress calendar with a full date at the beginning of September."
NEW APPOINTMENTS TO 8 PROVINCIAL CHAIRMANSHIPS
Announcing that appointments were made to 8 provincial chairmanships, Sarı said, "We have assigned our friends as follows: Temel Avşar for the province of Ardahan, Kamil Akdoğan for Çankırı, Şevki Akta for Erzincan, Esat Şengül for Kahramanmaraş, Burak Onur Gündüz for Karabük, Özgür Kaya for Kırklareli, Mustafa Curatoğlu for Kilis, and Selman Yıldırım for Kocaeli."
APPOINTMENTS TO 22 DISTRICTS IN ISTANBUL
Sarı added that appointments were also made to 22 districts of Istanbul. Responding to claims that names in the Party Assembly (PM) such as Gül Çiftçi and Selin Sayek Böke would be referred to the High Disciplinary Board (YDK), Sarı said, "It is neither moral nor politically correct for our friends who are within the Republican People's Party, who are part of its institutional identity and appear to be part of its politics, to take positions in a way that serves another political party. We are conducting a study on this. We are examining all of our friends' work, actions, and behaviors, their social media posts, and their posts regarding whether they take part in the activities of another political party. A team has been established for this."
