The mother and father of 21-year-old Ceyda Yakova, who lost her life after crashing into a direction sign while riding her motorcycle on the Şile road, spoke out. Her father, Yakova, who said his daughter was conscious when the accident happened, recounted that Ceyda told the people around her at that moment, 'I have a little pain.' What mother and father Yakova recounted was heart-wrenching.
The parents of 21-year-old Ceyda Yakova, who lost her life after crashing into a direction sign while riding her motorcycle on the Şile road, spoke out.
SHE HAD VISITED A FRIEND AND WAS RETURNING HOME The accident occurred on August 17 at around 17:00 at the Avlak Curve in Şile. Ceyda Yakova, who had graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University's Psychology Department about a month ago, visited a friend living in Şile. After the visit, Yakova set out on her motorcycle to go for a ride.
The wheel of the motorcycle ridden by Yakova got caught in gravel at the Avlak Curve on the Şile Road. Losing her balance, Yakova crashed into a direction sign on the roadside. After witnesses reported seeing Yakova thrown by the impact, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
Yakova, who received initial medical intervention at the scene, was taken to Şile State Hospital in serious condition. Due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to Sancaktepe Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Training and Research Hospital, where it was determined that she had internal bleeding. Despite all medical efforts, Yakova lost her life at the hospital.
"SHE BOUGHT THE MOTORCYCLE WITH HER OWN EARNED MONEY" Ceyda's father, Cem Yakova, said, "Ceyda graduated from Bilgi University's Psychology Department; her graduation was just last month. Before that, she was a volleyball athlete, but she focused more on her studies at university. In the last two years of university, her interest and passion for motorcycles began. As a father, I didn't support it much, but she was a girl who got what she wanted and did what she knew, within limits. She bought the motorcycle by working and earning her own money. She went to school and work, she also worked at an agency, she was active. We were happy because she was happy. Her hobby was motorcycles."
"SHE SAID, 'I HAVE A LITTLE PAIN'" Father Yakova said, "After the accident and burial proceedings, we visited the Gendarmerie Station. We watched the footage with the prosecutor's permission. They haven't handed us the helmet and motorcycle camera yet because the procedures aren't complete. We saw that she lost control of the wheel on the gravel on the forest road. Actually, it's a very easy road; she was going about 100 km/h. At the moment of the accident, the wheel went into the gravel at 100 km/h. She slightly veered off the asphalt, and there wasn't an extreme curve, just slight slopes. She was riding enjoyably. When she crossed to the dirt road right opposite, she hit the signpost pole with her body. The motorcycle went one way, she hit the pole. She suffered internal bleeding. At that moment, she said, 'I have a little pain.' They didn't move her much from the ground. The ambulance arrived and took her to Şile State Hospital. There, the seriousness of the situation became clear, and she was transferred by ambulance to İlhan Varank Training and Research Hospital. She passed away around 23:00. Honestly, she had many people who loved her; I didn't know it was to this extent. She had beautiful friendships. There was a great wave of love. She left such an example of love for everyone, and her departure was meaningful."
"SHE HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE, HER ARM HAD BEEN BROKEN" Cem Yakova stated, "She had sold her old motorcycle and bought a new one. The one she bought was 15-20 days old, but it was still a few years old motorcycle. She always wore full gear. She had a minor accident before, but her arm was broken. After that incident, she took it more seriously. She really kept buying gear after gear. Separate summer and winter gear. Whatever professionals in this field needed, that's how she was. On the other hand, since she constantly used her motorcycle for work and school, we had gotten used to it."
"THE MOTORCYCLE WAS JUST A HOBBY FOR HER" Mother Melek Yakova said, "I don't want to talk about the moment of the accident or what happened after, honestly. Questions like 'How did it happen?' Everything is already out in the open. My daughter wasn't even at fault in the accident. She rode her motorcycle very well. The motorcycle was just a hobby for her, she wasn't obsessed with it. She was a beautiful baby, a beautiful child, a beautiful sister, my friend, a mother. She was the mother of her sibling. Go outside now and say, 'Ceyda is gone.' The children in this neighborhood haven't even eaten for 2 days. Their mothers and fathers just told me. Ceyda was very loved."
"SHE WAS A VOLLEYBALL PLAYER, AN ATHLETE, AN INSTRUCTOR" Melek Yakova said, "I was always proud of her. Can a child do everything perfectly? She did everything perfectly. She was a volleyball player, an athlete, an instructor. My daughter had become a psychologist, she was a psychology graduate. She gave her first therapy to me. Now she'll have lovely chats with her neighbors in the garden of paradise. Yesterday, an 80-year-old grandmother came to her. She loved talking to elderly grandmothers and grandfathers so much. She loved it that much. I only want to talk about these things about my daughter now."
Father Cem Yakova "GOD GAVE HER THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY GOODBYE TO EVERYONE" Melek Yakova, who recounted that her daughter knew sign language and helped a child with it, said, "Her sign language teacher wrote to me yesterday. 'I am Ceyda's sign language teacher. She attended my class. She was my fastest-learning student in sign language.' A child got lost in a mall, a 4-5-year-old girl. She could only communicate with people through sign language. So Ceyda, as always, worked hard at her agencies and daily jobs; she studied, worked, and was social; she did everything well. That day, Ceyda reunited that child with her mother thanks to sign language. In about a month and a half to two months before her passing, I think she said goodbye to everyone. I heard everyone's stories. She had said goodbye to everyone. God gave her the opportunity to say goodbye to everyone."
Mother Melek Yakova "I RETURNED GOD'S TRUST TO HIM" Melek Yakova said, "I returned God's trust to Him."I never rebelled, and let no one know it that way. I did everything that needed to be done on time, and I will continue to do so. He will always be here with me. The only difference is his room will never be messy again; it will always stay this tidy. Ceyda will always be with us," she said.
