Comedian Cem Yılmaz, who fell ill in Çanakkale and underwent angiography at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Hospital, has been reported to be in good health. Evaluating Yılmaz's general health condition, ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Erenoğlu said, 'His general health condition is very good, thank God, he is even making jokes.'
ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, in his statement to journalists in front of the hospital regarding Cem Yılmaz's health condition, reminded that Yılmaz, who had a heart attack yesterday, was first very well treated at Ayvacık State Hospital, and then was brought to the university hospital at 20:30.
"HE IS IN GOOD CONDITION, HE IS EVEN MAKING JOKES"
Erenoğlu, stating that when the news first came from Ayvacık, both the ÇOMÜ Hospital Emergency Service and cardiology specialists carried out the necessary work and Yılmaz was received, continued as follows:
"Yılmaz's problematic vessels were successfully intervened by our professor Ercan Akşit and his team. Thank God, he is fine for now. We visited him a little while ago together with our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Aydın, Prof. Dr. Ercan Akşit, and Secretary General Oğuz Ünal. His general health condition is very good, thank God, he is even making jokes."
Erenoğlu, stating that Yılmaz was intervened with the newly acquired angiography device, said, "Thank God, we overcame it thanks to our new device. He is under control. If everything goes well, we will take him to the ward and he will recover. God protect him from worse. We intervened with the means of our state. ÇOMÜ Hospital was involved in this issue with all its physicians. I thank our professors very much for their efforts."
HE WILL BE TAKEN TO THE WARD AFTER 24 HOURS
Prof. Dr. Ercan Akşit, Faculty Member of ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology, also said that Cem Yılmaz's health condition is good.
Akşit noted the following:
"He is in intensive care due to the possibility of the expected complications of a heart attack developing. He has intravenous blood thinners. If his general condition continues to improve like this, we will follow him in ward conditions when the 24 hours are completed in the evening. Within a day or two, we will send him home healthy."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Cem Yılmaz, who fell ill at his home in Paşaköy, a town in the Ayvacık district, yesterday evening, was referred to the Coronary Intensive Care Unit of ÇOMÜ Hospital after initial intervention at Ayvacık State Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance.
Yılmaz, who was taken to the angiography laboratory, underwent a balloon and stent procedure from his wrist by Prof. Dr. Ercan Akşit and his team in about 40 minutes.
