In the investigation into the threats made against the family of Atlas Çağlayan, who was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old suspect in Istanbul, 2 more people have been detained. Out of a total of 6 suspects taken into custody, 3 have been arrested and sent to prison. The statements of the others are still being processed.
Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, Hakan Çakır, and Alperen Ömer Toprak, who were taken away from life due to the attacks of suspects under the age of 18, led to public discussions about the concept of "Children Driven to Crime (CDC)," while the last straw was the murder of Atlas Çağlayan (17). In the murder of Atlas Çağlayan, who was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old suspect in Güngören, Istanbul, under the pretext of "you looked sideways," the death threat messages sent to the family intensified the fire that fell into Turkey's heart.
2 MORE PEOPLE WHO THREATENED THE FAMILY HAVE BEEN DETAINED
Following the murder of Atlas Çağlayan, 3 of the 6 suspects who were detained for making provocative posts on social media and threatening mother Gülhan Çağlayan were arrested and sent to prison, while it was learned that the other 3 suspects were still undergoing questioning at the Security Branch Directorate.
On the other hand, in the efforts of the Cyber Crime Branch Directorate regarding the issue, 2 more suspects, who were determined to live outside Istanbul and were identified as having threatened Atlas Çağlayan's mother, were also detained.
