The Dinar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched a judicial investigation against those responsible for the crimes of 'negligent pollution of the environment' and 'endangering traffic safety.'
An astonishing environmental disaster occurred on the Dinar-Çay highway in Afyonkarahisar. A chemical substance, detected to have spilled onto the road from a TIR using the route approximately 10 days ago, reacted with the onset of rainfall and rapidly spread across the asphalt surface.
VEHICLES TURNED PURPLE IN AN INSTANT
Drivers proceeding unaware of the danger on the road experienced a major shock. The chemical mixture splashed from the tires of passing vehicles painted the undersides of cars, especially tires, rims, bumpers, and bodies, purple. Many drivers, noticing their vehicles' color change and staining instantly, rushed in panic to fuel stations and car washes for cleaning. Due to the ensuing grievances and high demand, long queues of vehicles formed at car washes in the area.
RESPONSIBLE PARTIES IDENTIFIED, INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Following the grievances and environmental danger, the Dinar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office quickly took action and intervened. In an official statement by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was announced that the identities of those responsible for the scandalous incident had been determined.
The statement reported that after comprehensive examinations regarding the incident, a judicial investigation was initiated against the suspects on charges of "Negligent pollution of the environment" and "Endangering traffic safety," and that the legal process is ongoing.
