Lawyer Şahin Cangüleç, who made assessments regarding the Rojin Kabaiş investigation, stated that significant progress had been made since the day they became involved in the file. Cangüleç, who stated that they made social media posts and press statements regarding the stage the investigation had reached, said that they had certain demands in line with the expert report received from Mersin, that some of these demands were being investigated, and that work on the others continues.

MINISTRY GRANTED AUTHORIZATION FOLLOWING COMPLAINT

Cangüleç noted that while the investigation continued, individuals who had previously been reflected in the press and alleged to be suspects filed a complaint against him and his colleague Abdurrahman Karabulut, and recorded that a letter was written to the Ministry of Justice on the matter. Stating that authorization from the Ministry of Justice is required to conduct an investigation against lawyers, Cangüleç said, 'The Ministry granted the authorization at this point, and the prosecutor's office conducting the investigation requested a written defense from us. We submitted this defense to the file. At the moment, an investigation has been opened against both me and Abdurrahman Karabulut, upon the complaint of certain individuals in the Rojin Kabaiş file, due to news reports reflected in the press.'

SIX-PERSON LIST EMERGED FROM NARROWED BASE STATION REPORT

Stating that one of the important developments they expected in the investigation was the narrowed base station study regarding the phone, Cangüleç said that the report concerning this study had arrived and that some posts had been made on the matter. Cangüleç, who stated that the report was also reflected in the media, conveyed that they were informed that the study contained a list of six names.

Cangüleç, stating that they did not disclose the names of the people on the list for the sake of the investigation, said, 'Within this scope, the prosecutor's office is conducting an inquiry into who these six people are, exactly where their phone lines were located on the day of the incident, how connected these individuals are to the incident, and whether their DNA will be taken. The investigation regarding the six-person name list submitted to the file within the scope of the narrowed base station is currently ongoing.'

Recording that in their last meeting with the prosecutor's office they were informed that no result had yet been reached regarding DNA examinations, Cangüleç stated that there was a partial increase in the number of samples considered in the examinations, that results continue to arrive, but that no conclusion had yet been reached regarding a match.

ROJIN'S PHONE HAS NOT YET BEEN UNLOCKED

Expressing that one of the important issues awaiting an answer within the scope of the investigation was Rojin Kabaiş's phone, Cangüleç said that the phone had previously been sent to two different countries but could not be unlocked.
