The regulation regarding the changes to the Dress Code for Students Affiliated with the Ministry of National Education has been published in the Official Gazette.
THE SCHOOL UNIFORM FOR PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND HIGH SCHOOLS WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
With the amendment published in the Official Gazette, the school uniform for students in primary, secondary, and high schools will be determined by the school administration without including restrictive details such as special signs, prints, and patterns, after obtaining the opinions of the school-family union management board and the teachers' council to be held at the beginning of the second term. The visual of the determined school uniform will be published on the school's website. The determined school uniform cannot be changed before 4 academic years have passed. When the school uniform is changed, students in intermediate classes can continue to wear the existing school uniforms until they advance to the next level of education.
IT WILL BE ECONOMICAL, NO SPECIAL CLOTHING WILL BE REQUIRED FOR SPECIAL DAYS
The determined school uniform will be economical, simple, practical, easily obtainable, and in accordance with pedagogical principles, in line with the general and specific purposes and basic principles outlined in Law No. 1739. Special clothing that would impose a financial burden on parents cannot be required for special days, weeks, and celebrations, whether for in-class or extracurricular activities. Students in preschool education institutions and special education schools will wear clean and tidy clothing suitable for their age group characteristics. Students with health disabilities, who document their condition, will be able to wear clothing appropriate to their disabilities. Depending on the characteristics of the program they are studying, students will wear aprons, overalls, or clothing suitable for the nature of the work with the approval of the school administration in workshops, craftsmanship, laboratories, and workplaces. School-family unions cannot engage in clothing sales and approaches that violate free competition conditions regarding the provision of school uniforms.
