INSULTS LEAD TO FIGHT
New footage of the fight that occurred yesterday in traffic on Uğur Mumcu Street in Pazarcı Neighborhood has emerged. The dashcam footage shows an elderly man named A.T., who stepped onto the road as a pedestrian, making a stop gesture to the commercial taxi with his hand, and then responding with swearing when the taxi driver, S.S., shouted, 'Where is the crosswalk?' After an exchange of insults, the two began to fight.
'DON'T DO IT, BRO, THERE ARE CHILDREN'
Just before the fight, the elderly man, allegedly intoxicated, is seen trying to hit the driver's head with drink cans in two black bags, and the moment the driver punches him, causing him to fall to the ground, is also captured on the footage.
During the incident, a woman who was a passenger in the taxi is heard warning the driver, saying, 'Don't do it, bro, there are children.'
After the incident, the Gazipaşa District Police Department launched an investigation, took the taxi driver, S.S., who was involved in the fight, into custody, imposed an administrative fine of 180,000 TL on the driver, who was found to have exited the vehicle to join the fight, indefinitely confiscated his driver's license after determining he had been involved in a similar incident before, and impounded the vehicle for 60 days.
It was reported that after the incident, when the citizen named A.T. filed a complaint, the taxi driver was released from the police station after giving a statement, and the investigation is ongoing.
