In the investigation into Ahbap Association, an operation was conducted in four provinces against 14 suspects and 4 companies, including Haluk Levent's brother Berkant Acil, who is detained as part of a bribery investigation related to Şile Municipality. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office alleged that 125 million 765 thousand lira from donations to the association was transferred through Haluk Levent's assistant's account to related individuals and companies.
In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Ahbap Association, new findings were obtained. Within the scope of the investigation, a simultaneous operation was carried out in Istanbul, Izmir, Kocaeli, and Mugla against 14 suspects, including Haluk Levent's brother Berkant Acil, and 4 companies.
125 MILLION LIRA DONATION TRAFFIC ALLEGATION
According to the Chief Public Prosecutor's statement, it was determined that part of the donations made to the Ahbap Association was transferred to the personal account of Haluk Levent's assistant Y.K., and from there, a total of 125 million 765 thousand lira was sent to the accounts of individuals and companies connected to Berkant Acil.
The statement noted that it was assessed that illicit gains were obtained through this method and donations were used outside their intended purpose.
PROCEDURAL IRREGULARITY ALLEGATION IN FESTIVAL TENDER
Within the scope of the investigation, it was claimed that Berkant Acil obtained the organization of the 35th International Sile Cloth Festival, organized by the Sile Municipality, through the Sur Music Production Company via a direct procurement method.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reported that expenses such as stage, lighting, and sound systems related to the organization were shown as higher than actual through fake invoices, as determined by a financial expert report.
It was also reminded that Berkant Acil is currently detained as part of a bribery investigation conducted against the Sile Municipality.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN 4 PROVINCES
In the simultaneous operation conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate in Istanbul, Izmir, Kocaeli, and Mugla, 14 suspects were apprehended, and searches were carried out at 4 companies.
It was reported that numerous digital materials were seized during the operation, and the investigation is ongoing in multiple directions.
