Evaluating the match on the Kontraspor YouTube channel, Nihat Kahveci also criticized Beşiktaş's performance on the field. Kahveci's main reaction came over the challenge made by Alanyaspor's Aliti on Trossard. Comparing the situation to a "UFC punch," Kahveci lashed out at the referees, saying, "I'm a person who loves UFC. If the central referee doesn't see a UFC slap, a UFC punch in football, if the linesman doesn't see it, if VAR doesn't call it, sorry, but quit this job!" Kahveci also noted that referee performances have been debated for a long time, saying, "This season, man, has started the worst."

Nihat Kahveci also called on Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı. Arguing that the management should not stay silent after the incident, Kahveci said, "President Serdal, come out and speak, brother! Beşiktaş fans are waiting right now. After such a situation, come out and speak, my president!"
Reminding that Trossard said "He slapped me" regarding the incident, Kahveci stated that Beşiktaş's management should make a statement against the referee decisions.
