In Tokat, Dursun Almamış, a father of two who was being treated for suspected Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), has died. Extraordinary precautions were taken at the funeral ceremony against the risk of virus transmission; citizens were not allowed near the grave, and the coffin was lowered into the soil by relatives wearing protective clothing.

Recently, Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), which has frequently claimed lives, caused the death of Dursun Almamış in Tokat. Almamış's body was buried under strict precautions.

TICK ATTACHED, HE LOST HIS LIFE 4 DAYS LATER

A tick attached to Dursun Almamış, a married father of two living in Sulusaray district, approximately 4 days ago. Almamış, who reportedly removed the tick from his body on his own, was taken to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Research and Application Hospital after falling ill. He was treated for suspected CCHF but could not be saved despite all medical interventions. The deceased Dursun Almamış's funeral was brought to Taşköprü Cemetery in Sulusaray district for burial.

CITIZENS KEPT AWAY FROM THE FUNERAL

Extensive security measures were taken during the funeral due to the risk of virus transmission. Citizens were not allowed to approach within about 2 meters of the funeral, and the coffin was lowered into the grave by relatives wearing special protective clothing. After the burial, the grave was covered with soil using an excavator.
