70-year-old Mustafa Demir, who fell ill after dialysis treatment at Burdur State Hospital, died at the hospital in Antalya where he was transferred. The treatment of the 32 patients who fell ill after the incident and were called to the hospital as a precaution is still ongoing.
One of the patients who became ill after receiving dialysis treatment at Burdur State Hospital died while being treated in intubation at Antalya Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, where he was referred.
Mustafa Demir, 70, who became ill after dialysis treatment, continued to be treated in intubation at Antalya Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and lost his life 3 days later. It was learned that there was no change in the condition of the other 3 intubated patients.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Some of the patients who underwent dialysis at Burdur State Hospital on Saturday, May 25, between 08.00-12.00 and 12.00-16.00 sessions, returned to the hospital with complaints such as dizziness, nausea, confusion, and inability to get off the transfer vehicle. Upon this, the hospital administration called all the patients who underwent dialysis to the hospital and after the examinations, referred 33 patients who were treated at the dialysis center during the day to state hospitals and private dialysis centers in Afyonkarahisar, Isparta, Antalya, and Bucak. 14 of the referred 33 patients were intubated.
In the statement made yesterday by Burdur Provincial Health Directorate regarding the health condition of the patients, it was reported that the number of intubated patients decreased to 4 and it was stated that the cause of the patients' illness has not yet been clarified.
