U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza is very close, stating, "We will inform you of the outcome today or perhaps tomorrow. We have a chance for this."
US President Donald Trump evaluated the ceasefire in Gaza and the negotiation process with Iran during a farewell ceremony held in the Oval Office for Elon Musk, who left his position at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
"THEY ARE VERY CLOSE TO AN AGREEMENT IN GAZA"
In response to a question about the current status of the ceasefire agreement, which is said to have been approved by Israel and is awaiting a response from Hamas, Trump said, "They are very close to an agreement regarding Gaza. We will inform you of the result today or tomorrow. We have a chance for this."
"IRAN WOULD PREFER TO MAKE AN AGREEMENT RATHER THAN BE BOMBED"
Immediately after his assessment regarding Gaza, Trump also made a statement about nuclear negotiations with Iran, saying, "I believe we have a chance to make an agreement with Iran. They would prefer to make an agreement rather than be bombed. I think this agreement could happen in the not-too-distant future. We can make an agreement without dropping bombs on the Middle East. That would be very good."
TRADE AGREEMENT WITH CHINA
The US President also claimed that China has completely violated the trade agreement they made, which temporarily reduced tariffs mutually. Trump stated, "They have violated a large part of the agreement. But I am sure I will talk to President Xi, and I hope we will resolve this."
DECISION TO BLOCK TARIFFS
Noting that the decision of the US International Trade Court to block tariffs was a 'great moment', Trump said, "I hope it goes to court now, and we win this war." Trump argued that the decision would take away "presidential powers," stating, "That would be a terrible thing, and most importantly, it would leave us vulnerable."
