JET SKI CRASHED INTO THE BRIDGE PILLAR
The accident occurred in the evening hours in the Melenagzi village of Akcakoca. The jet ski, driven by Arif Yalci, which was proceeding from the fishing shelter towards the point where the Melen River meets the sea, went out of control and crashed into the pillar of the Melenagzi Bridge. Due to the impact of the collision, the jet ski driver Arif Yalci and his passenger Ilknur Y. fell into the water.
1 PERSON SERIOUSLY INJURED
Upon the notification, Coast Guard, lifeguard, health, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region. Arif Yalci, who was seriously injured in the accident, lost his life despite all the interventions of the medical teams. Ilknur Y., who was seriously injured, was taken to the hospital and put under treatment.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
