The illegal arms shipment, which was determined to be made from Konya to Kocaeli and Istanbul, was prevented by a police operation in Sakarya. In the operation organized by police teams in Sakarya, 100 unlicensed pistols and 100 magazines were seized in the vehicle of a suspect who was determined to carry out illegal arms shipment from Konya to Kocaeli and Istanbul. Legal proceedings were initiated against 45-year-old Y.T., who was detained in the operation.
VEHICLE PLACED UNDER SURVEILLANCE
Under the coordination of the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Intelligence Branch Directorates initiated efforts to prevent arms smuggling and trafficking.
Within the scope of the work carried out by the teams, it was learned that the suspect named Y.T. would transport illegal weapons from Konya to Kocaeli and Istanbul using his vehicle.
STOPPED ON D-650
Following the information, the vehicle under surveillance was stopped in an operation organized on the D-650 highway in the Arifiye district as a result of the teams' efforts.
In the search conducted on the vehicle, 100 unlicensed pistols and 100 magazines were found.
SUSPECT DETAINED
Legal proceedings were initiated against Y.T., who was detained in the operation. It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
