In Aksaray, a young woman's absent-mindedness after leaving her mother in the car and going to a cafe turned into a 1.5-hour rescue operation. Fatma D., 63, who was sleeping in the car, woke up when the alarm went off and wanted to get out, but she was trapped due to the high-security locking system. Upon the report of citizens in the parking lot, guards and firefighting teams mobilized to open the door. The incident, where even the firefighters proved insufficient, ended when the woman’s daughter, who was reached by the teams, came and opened the locked door.
A young woman who left her mother in the car and went to a cafe in Aksaray faced a major panic when she returned. Fatma D., 63, who was sleeping in the car, was trapped inside after the vehicle's doors locked. Citizens and teams were mobilized for the elderly woman who could not open the door on her own. After about 1.5 hours of effort, the car door was opened when her young daughter arrived.
NOTICED BY THE ALARM SOUND
The incident occurred in the parking lot of a shopping mall in Taşpazar neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Selma D. (22), who lives abroad and came to her hometown Aksaray, wanted to go to a cafe with her family.
Since her mother Fatma D. wanted to sleep in the car, the young woman left her 63-year-old mother in the vehicle with foreign license plates. Selma D., who left one of the car windows slightly open for air, went to the cafe with her family.
After a while, when the car alarm went off, the elderly woman woke up and wanted to get out. However, she was trapped inside because she could not open the doors due to the car's high-security locking system.
CITIZENS AND TEAMS WERE MOBILIZED
Citizens who heard the alarm and noticed the elderly woman in the car tried to open the doors. However, when the car would not open despite all efforts, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the report, patrol officers and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The patrol officers tried to remove the elderly woman from the car until the fire department arrived.
FIRE DEPARTMENT ALSO COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR
After a while, fire department teams arriving at the scene also started efforts to rescue the woman trapped in the car. However, no results were obtained from the interventions.
During the rescue efforts that lasted about 1.5 hours, teams also tried to reach the elderly woman's relatives. When her daughter did not answer the phone, the patrol officers reached other relatives of the family and informed them of the situation.
RESCUED WITH HER DAUGHTER'S ARRIVAL
Upon the information reached by the teams, Selma D. came to the scene. The young woman came to the car, opened the door, and brought out her mother, who had been trapped in the car for about 1.5 hours.
Fatma D., who breathed a sigh of relief after the fear she experienced, thanked the teams who helped her.
