The Sultans of the Net defeated Germany 3-1 in their fourth match at the 2026 European Championship, making it 4 wins in 4 matches.

The Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Germany 3-1 in the fourth match of Group A at the Trendyol 2026 European Women's Volleyball Championship.

TURKEY WINS THE FIRST SET

In the first set, which started with consecutive points, the national team widened the gap during Vargas's serving run (9-4) and forced Germany to call a timeout. Although Germany tried to stay in the match with Alsmeier, Turkey, using its middle players effectively, won the first set 25-21 and took a 1-0 lead.

GERMANY LEVELS THE SCORE

Although Germany started the second set well, the crescent-stars caught up with their opponent thanks to Vargas's points. In the closely contested second period, both teams scored through alternating attacking errors, while the national team asserted its dominance in the set with Hande Baladın. Towards the end of the set, the opposing team became effective with Grozer and leveled the score: 23-23. Turkey struggled to slow down their opponent's momentum with timeouts. Germany won the set 25-27, bringing the match to 1-1.

TURKEY TAKES THE LEAD AGAIN

In the third set, the crescent-stars, who did not relinquish control with Vargas and Hande Baladın, won the set 25-20, making the score 2-1.

THE SULTANS FINISH THE JOB

Turkey started the fourth set by scoring points with Saliha Şahin's spikes. The national team, finding their rhythm with Deniz Uyanık's blocks, continued to widen the gap: 17-11. With the support of their fans, the crescent-stars prevailed 25-19 in the fourth set and won the match 3-1.

4 OUT OF 4 FOR THE CRESCENT-STARS

With this result, Turkey made it 4 out of 4 in the tournament. Germany, on the other hand, suffered their second defeat.  Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, Turkish National Paralympic Committee President Murat Aksu, and head coach Fatih Terim followed the match from the stands.

FINAL MATCH AGAINST POLAND

The Women's National Volleyball Team, which has guaranteed a place in the round of 16, will face Poland in their 5th and final group stage match on Friday, August 28, at 19:00.
