In an operation targeting entertainment venues in Ankara where foreign women were brought to Turkey and employed illegally, 29 suspects were detained and 47 foreign women were deported.
In the context of an investigation into human trafficking targeting entertainment venues in Ankara that illegally brought foreign women to Turkey and employed them irregularly, 29 suspects were detained.
A total of 38 women, identified as 13 Kazakh, 11 Russian, 4 Belarusian, 5 Ethiopian, 3 Ukrainian, 1 Brazilian, and 1 Kenyan nationals who were found to be working at entertainment centers, were handed over to the Migration Department. Deportation decisions were made for these 38 foreign women, and deportation procedures were carried out. In the second phase of the operations, 9 more foreign women were identified at 5 different venues, and deportation procedures were initiated. After health checks, the women were handed over to the Provincial Migration Directorate.
It was learned that inspections have been increased against venues that violated regulations by obtaining work permits for foreign women, falsely presenting them as waitresses and cleaning staff.
