Stating that they will develop next-generation missile systems capable of overcoming all current and future missile defense systems, Putin noted that the Topol-M, Yars, and Bulava-30 systems form the foundation of Russia's nuclear power. It was reported that Russia tested the "Sarmat" intercontinental ballistic missile yesterday.

Putin spoke at a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Moscow Thermal Technology Institute. Noting that the institute's employees have made significant contributions to Russia's defense, Putin said the institution has played a leading role in the development of solid-fuel nuclear missile systems deployed on land and at sea.

Putin stated that the Topol-M, Yars, and Bulava-30 systems form the foundation of Russia's nuclear triad. Putin noted that the developed mobile ballistic missile systems are on active duty and said these systems have been used effectively in the war in Ukraine.

The Russian leader emphasized they will continue to strengthen strategic nuclear forces, saying, "We will continue to create missile systems with enhanced combat power that can overcome all modern and future missile defense systems."

While it was reported that Russia tested the intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat" yesterday, Putin previously stated in a statement that the Sarmat is the world's most powerful missile system.
