AK Party Ankara Deputy Osman Gökçek sent an SMS containing the claim that the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality paid 69 million TL for Ebru Gündeş's Republic Day concert on October 29.

In the message Gökçek sent to the people of Ankara, it was claimed that "Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş spent 69 million Turkish Liras on Ebru Gündeş's concert through an emergency procurement method."

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality also denied the claims using the same platform. In the message sent by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, the following statements were included: "All lies and slander. Not a single lira has been spent for the concert. The corruption of the previous era has come to an end in this period."
