CHP Chairman Özgür Özel revealed the details of his phone call with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. Özel, who has been in the spotlight recently with intense rallies and field programs, stated that many political leaders have called him to show their support. Özel relayed that Bahçeli said, “You never stop, you got very wet, take care of your health,” and noted that the conversation only included holiday greetings and goodwill messages, adding, “It was a very polite phone call.”
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel answered questions from Saygı Öztürk of Sözcü newspaper. Stating that the CHP has been going through an intense agenda due to both political operation allegations and investigations into municipalities, Özel said many political party leaders have called to show support.

The CHP has become one of the most active parties in politics in recent weeks, due to both public rallies and investigations into certain municipalities. Özgür Özel, who attended programs particularly in İzmir, Manisa, and Istanbul, draws attention with his busy schedule.
Party sources state that Özel has been holding events in a different city almost every day recently, increasing field work due to operations against municipalities and early election debates.

Referring to support calls from political parties, Özel said, “Political parties are showing great solidarity. Many leaders are calling and expressing support. This is very valuable.”
Özel stated that after recent developments, leaders from various political parties have called him.

Özel also shared details of his phone call with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, describing it as quite cordial.
Özel said, “Devlet Bey addressed me as ‘Özgür Bey, my chairman.’ Then he said, ‘You never stop.’ He mentioned following first İzmir then Manisa. He said, ‘You got very wet, take care of your health.’”
“IT WAS A VERY POLITE CALL”
Özel noted that no special political topics were discussed during the call with Bahçeli, saying, “He said nothing beyond holiday greetings. It was a very polite call.”
Although political polemics sometimes become harsh, this dialogue between Bahçeli and Özel drew attention in Ankara circles. The phone call from the People's Alliance, which has recently harshly criticized the CHP, was interpreted in political circles as a “gesture of courtesy.”
