New Party Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to MP Ümit Özlale because of his unfounded allegations about Minister Göktaş. It was learned that Özel, who called Özlale, reproached him with the words: "How can you share such a claim with the public without thinking twice? Stay away from steps that would put us in the wrong in our just cause."

Within the scope of a fund investigation launched following developments in capital markets, the allegations by New Party MP from İzmir Ümit Özlale about Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and her father ignited a new political crisis. After it was understood that the allegations stemmed from a similarity in names, New Party Chairman Özgür Özel stepped in.

MINISTER GÖKTAŞ ISSUED A CHALLENGE

On the other hand, Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş made a harsh statement, stating that the allegations were completely unfounded. Göktaş, who explained that her father's Republic of Turkey ID number and the Republic of Turkey ID number of the person mentioned by Özlale did not match, and that her father was registered in Konya while the person in question was registered in Bartın, challenged the claimants.

SHE THREATENED TO RESIGN: PROVE IT AND I'LL RESIGN

Minister Göktaş, who stated that she would resign immediately from her post if the allegations were proven, announced that she had initiated legal proceedings, saying, "Prove your allegations with concrete evidence, and I will leave my post. Well, when it turns out that these allegations are lies and slander, will you also leave your posts? I stand behind my word."

ANOTHER REACTION FROM FARUK ACAR

AK Party Deputy Chairman Faruk Acar also reacted to the allegation. Sharing a post on his social media account, Acar said, "Yesterday, under the roof of Parliament, you targeted our MPs and ministers, and today another minister of ours, without presenting any concrete evidence. You attempted to manufacture crimes from name similarities, derive judgments from doubt, and go so far as to take offense at nothing, sacrificing people's reputations to your political calculations. Everyone should know their place."
