Stating that the trustee issue is a very serious matter, the CHP leader said, "Firstly, it is something that sets Turkey's democracy back 80 years. Turkey has been a country where people elect their mayors and decide who will manage the cities with the votes they cast for 80 years, and this has been the case since the CHP transitioned to a multi-party regime. No one has dared to do such a thing in any period, and while this government cannot win municipalities, it is taking them over with trustees.
