Özgür Özel, who was removed from the position of CHP Chairman following the court's absolute nullity decision, was elected as the CHP Group Leader. After the election, Özgür Özel addressed the cameras and responded to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who had returned to the chairmanship through the court decision and made a statement an hour earlier.
KILIÇDAROĞLU: WE NEED TO CORRECT MORAL VALUES
In his statement, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that the CHP needs to strengthen its moral values again, saying, 'No criticism has ever been made regarding the party's moral values until today. Now it is coming. We need to correct these moral values. This party is the party that founded the republic. It is a party that has adopted morality and virtue as its fundamental philosophy.'
Referring to the internal debates within the party, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that a harsh language towards former chairmen is not accepted in CHP culture. Kılıçdaroğlu said, 'We are the Republican People's Party, a rooted party, and we must protect our roots and our morality.'
ÖZGÜR ÖZEL: IMMORALITY IS BEING DONE TO THE CHP
Özgür Özel, who appeared before the cameras following Kılıçdaroğlu's remarks, stated that the CHP has faced numerous unfair criticisms in the past as well.
Özel said, 'We know that the CHP has received many unfair criticisms in its history. I know the history of the CHP very well. The CHP has not rewarded these within itself. It is true that immorality is being done to the CHP. But I will not take into account views that treat the accusations against the CHP as if they were real.'
