CHP Group Chair Özgür Özel, who met with market vendors and citizens in Denizli, gave a striking response to a citizen who said he would resign from the party. Özel recalled that the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality also resigned from CHP in reaction to the "absolute nullity" decision, and said, "We will take the party back; for now, no one should leave the father's home."

CHP Group Chair Özgür Özel made striking statements regarding the "absolute nullity" decision during a market visit in the Bozkurt district of Denizli. Addressing a citizen who said he was considering resigning from the party, Özel reminded that the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality had also resigned from CHP in protest of the decision. Stating that they will continue their legal and political struggle, Özel said, "We will take this party back one way or another. If there is no remedy, we will decide together. For now, let no one leave the paternal home."

MET WITH MARKET TRADERS

CHP Group Chair Özgür Özel visited the market place in the Bozkurt district of Denizli, listening to the problems of tradesmen and citizens. During the visit, Özel made assessments regarding the economy, the livelihood difficulties of retirees, and the latest developments in CHP, also giving notable messages to party members.

Speaking when a citizen said he would resign from CHP during the market visit, Özel said, "In fact, yesterday the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality also got angry like you and resigned in protest of the absolute nullity. Wait. There are legal matters, there is political struggle; we will take this party back one way or another. If there is no remedy left, then we will decide together. For now, let no one leave the paternal home."

RETIREES ARE FULL OF TROUBLES

Talking to a retired citizen shopping at the market, Özel asked about their pension and expenses. The citizen stated they receive a pension of 21 thousand lira and said, "I had 500 lira on me, it's all gone. No money, nothing. The situation of retirees is truly pitiful."

Özel, drawing attention to the economic difficulties faced by retirees, said, "In every rally, every week, I talk about retirees. First, we will save our party, then we will save you."

MARKET TRADERS: FARMERS ARE IN REVOLT

Market tradesmen also complained about high costs and low sales. A tomato producer tradesman stated that the product is not profitable and said, "Farmers are in revolt. Diesel is expensive, fertilizer is expensive, pesticides are expensive. Life is expensive in Turkey."

Özel argued that both producers and consumers are victimized simultaneously, commenting, "People have no purchasing power. Therefore, sellers cannot earn, and buyers cannot buy."

CRITICISM OF SUGAR FACTORIES

Bringing up issues related to sugar beet production, Özel criticized past privatizations. Arguing that the privatization of sugar factories has left producers in a difficult situation, Özel said the decline in sugar beet production has also negatively affected the livestock sector.

Responding to citizens' criticisms of merit and nepotism, Özel stated, "This happens because they get things done through connections. We will fix everything, hopefully."

HE MADE THE FIRST SALE

During the market tour, Özel sold strawberries to citizens at a fruit stand, helping the tradesman make their first sale of the day. Throughout the visit, Özel received supportive messages from many citizens and said they will continue to fight for solutions to economic problems.
