Following the 13.52% salary increase for civil servants and retired civil servants, many items affecting millions of people have also been raised. In the new period, while the paid military service fee exceeded 472 thousand liras, the severance pay ceiling, old age pension for those aged 65, home care allowance, and disability benefits increased at the same rate.
The social aid payments and some critical fees that closely concern millions of citizens in Turkey have been updated with the increase in the civil servant salary coefficient. The 13.52 percent raise for civil servants and retired civil servants, clarified with the recently announced inflation figures, has directly affected a wide range from paid military service to severance pay ceiling, from the 65-year-old allowance to disability benefits.
NEW RATE FOR PAID MILITARY SERVICE ANNOUNCED
Paid military service fees, increased at the civil servant salary raise rate, have been redetermined for the period between July 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. According to the new figures that will form the basis of the official announcement by the Ministry of National Defense, the paid military service fee has risen from 416,361 lira to 472,653 lira. The amount to be paid by draft evaders and absentees has increased from 4,857 lira to 5,541 lira.
SOCIAL AID ALSO INCREASED
There has also been a 13.52 percent increase in the social support items paid by the state to those in need. The prominent current figures in this context are as follows:
Disability pension: The monthly amount paid for citizens with a disability report between 40-69 percent and disabled individuals under 18 has increased from 5,103 lira to 5,793 lira. The amount paid for disabilities of 70 percent and above has reached 8,689 lira from 7,655 lira.
65-year-old allowance: The monthly allowance granted to citizens over 65 who have no social security and whose monthly per capita income is less than one-third of the net minimum wage (9,358 lira 50 kuruş for 2026) has been raised from 6,393 lira to 7,257 lira.
WORKERS' EYES WERE ON THE SEVERANCE PAY CEILING
The severance pay ceiling, which concerns all employees regardless of worker or civil servant status, has also been updated with the new raise rate. The severance pay ceiling, which determines the highest annual compensation amount receivable in case of leaving a job, has increased from 64,948 lira to 73,729 lira.
