A high school physics teacher in Ankara was mocked by his students. Following the incident, the teacher's injury and the support from parents became a topic of discussion.
Images of students at Kocatepe Mimar Kemal Anatolian High School in the Çankaya district mocking their Physics teacher Mehmet Canpolat (61) were shared on social media the day before yesterday. The school administration has initiated a disciplinary process regarding the controversial footage. It was stated that the incident occurred approximately 20 days ago. Additionally, it was reported that teacher Canpolat, who lost his balance and fell during class earlier this week, broke his arm and was discharged today after treatment at the hospital.
'I LOVE THEM ALL VERY MUCH'
It was learned that Physics teacher Mehmet Canpolat, who was subjected to disrespectful behavior during class, expressed to visitors after the incident, "I am not complaining about my students. I love them all very much. I am sad that such an event occurred. I would not expect such behavior from my students. However, I do not want any of my students to undergo a disciplinary investigation because of me, especially to be expelled from school. Teaching is a profession of sacrifice," he said.
'WE ARE REALLY SORRY'
Student parents also supported teacher Canpolat. Barış İnan, one of the parents, stated that he was very upset after the incident and came to the school to show support, saying, "We came for the safety of our children. All families will come anyway. I really felt sorry for the teacher. It is very bad to have such an incident in a place where you come to receive education. No one who cannot be disciplined by their family can be disciplined by teachers. We are really sorry. I apologize to our teacher as well," he said.
