On the first day of Eid al-Adha in Esenyurt, Istanbul, illegal animal sacrifices were carried out at numerous points. Sacrifices made in alleys, vacant lots, and in front of apartment complexes were captured on camera, while municipal police teams imposed fines on those violating the rules.
Starting from the morning hours, some citizens sacrificed their animals in alleys, vacant lands, and in front of buildings instead of the designated areas determined by the municipality. In footage recorded from different neighborhoods of the district, sacrifices were seen taking place in areas not complying with hygiene rules.
MUNICIPAL POLICE TEAMS INTERVENED
Municipal police teams conducting inspections across the district intervened at locations where illegal sacrifices were taking place. Legal penalties were imposed on individuals who carried out sacrifices in violation of the rules.
Authorities warned citizens that sacrifices must only be carried out in designated areas.
