In Adana, 27-year-old Nursel S. was stabbed seven times in the middle of the street by Ramazan S., who allegedly harbored a platonic love for her since elementary school. The suspect, caught after the incident, said in his statement, "I got excited when I saw her on the street," and was arrested by the court.
In the Gürselpaşa neighborhood of Adana's Seyhan district, a horrific incident occurred on June 8 at 12:00 PM. Ramazan S. (28), who had a platonic obsession with Nursel S. (27), followed her to her home, approached her on the street, and stopped her.
STABBED THE WOMAN 7 TIMES AND FLED
Panicking upon encountering Ramazan S., Nursel S. fell to the ground. Ramazan S. pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Nursel S., who was on the ground, 7 times. As Nursel S. screamed for help, Ramazan S. fled. The incident was captured by the security camera of the apartment complex where Nursel S. lived.
CAUGHT IN A NEARBY STREET
Following reports from bystanders, medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Nursel S. received initial treatment and was taken by ambulance to Seyhan State Hospital. District police teams soon caught Ramazan S. on a street near the crime scene.
HAD A PLATONIC LOVE FOR YEARS
It emerged that Ramazan S., taken to the police station, had attended elementary school with Nursel S. and had harbored affection for her since those years, though they did not know each other closely.
"I GOT EXCITED WHEN I SAW HER"
In his statement, suspect Ramazan S. said, "I had been wanting to reach her for years. I got excited when I saw her on the street. I attacked suddenly; I am sorry." After the procedures, Ramazan S. was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the court. Meanwhile, it was reported that Nursel S.'s treatment at the hospital is ongoing.
