Police teams in Antalya, acting on a report of "a thief in the garage," were stunned by the scene they encountered when the automatic door opened. Instead of a thief, the teams found a drug-addicted woman trying to feed her baby in a stroller fruit juice from a bottle.

POLICE CALLED AFTER SOUNDS FROM THE GARAGE

The incident occurred on 3597 Street in the Şelale neighborhood of Manavgat district. According to information obtained, citizens who heard sounds from a closed garage under an apartment building and noticed a stranger inside reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, numerous police teams were dispatched to the area.

NEIGHBORS SHOCKED AS DOOR OPENS

Arriving at the scene quickly, Manavgat Police Department teams took security measures around the area and contacted the garage owner. After an anxious wait, the automatic garage door was opened with a remote. However, when the door lifted, neither the police nor the residents could believe what they saw. Inside, they encountered a woman trying to feed her baby, estimated to be 4-5 months old, fruit juice from a bottle in a stroller.

DRUG-ADDICTED MOTHER SNUCK INTO GARAGE

An investigation revealed the individual to be D.Y., previously known to police teams and reported to be a drug addict. It was determined that D.Y., under the influence of the substance she used, entered a car whose owner had forgotten to lock it; she then took the vehicle's registration, keys, and garage remote control and sneaked into the garage.

GARAGE OWNER DID NOT FILE COMPLAINT

The female garage owner, greatly shocked by the scene, consulted with her husband, took back the stolen registration, keys, and remote control, and did not file a complaint.

MOTHER STRUGGLED TO STAND

D.Y., observed to have difficulty standing, was taken into custody by police teams. The unfortunate baby and her mother were taken from the scene in a police vehicle for necessary checks and to be safely handed over to their family.

The woman named D.Y., under the influence of substances in May 2025, had disappeared by getting into a parked car in front of Çağlayan Mosque and was found passed out in the vehicle in Sarılar neighborhood after a relentless police chase.
