In the case where Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu is being tried for "interfering with a tender" and facing a request for a "political ban" during his tenure as the mayor of Beylikdüzü, the prosecutor requested additional time for the opinion. The court panel postponed the case to April 11.
The eighth hearing of the case in which Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), was tried on the charge of "manipulating a tender" during his term as the Mayor of Beylikdüzü was held today at the Büyükçekmece 10th Criminal Court of First Instance.
PROSECUTOR REQUESTED ADDITIONAL TIME AND POSTPONED THE CASE
In the case where İmamoğlu is being tried for his request for a "political ban," the prosecutor requested additional time for the opinion and the case was postponed to April 11. In his request, the prosecutor stated that there are individuals such as Cem Ülker, Hasan Çetin, Hilal Çohadar, and Türkan Demirel in the file, and that he would announce his opinion by combining it with another file involving these individuals.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
A case had been opened against Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), for the crime of "manipulating a tender" related to the awarding of a tender to a company that did not meet the conditions during his term as the Mayor of Beylikdüzü, with a request for a prison sentence of 3 to 7 years.
