President Erdogan calls for 'alliance' to the Islamic world

President Erdogan, speaking at the Mawlid al-Nabi Week program, warned the Islamic world. Erdogan said, 'As Muslims, we cannot become strong by relying on others. We want to build peace and security in our region together.' Pointing to the Mecca Agreement between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, Erdogan stated, 'We are trying to expand alliances among ourselves by saying there is good in alliance. We want to walk into the future together, shoulder to shoulder.'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at the program held at the Halic Congress Center on the occasion of Mawlid al-Nabi Week. Stating that Islamic countries will grow stronger by acting together, Erdoğan pointed to the Mecca Agreement between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan. Erdoğan called for an alliance to the Islamic world.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

\"I send my greetings and love to all my brothers and sisters who follow us in our country and in different parts of the world, and whose eyes, hearts, and ears are here even if they are not among us. Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, of whose community we are honored to be, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, guidance to humanity, and the highest example of good morals to believers. As Muslims, we once again observed the Night of Mawlid at the beginning of the week.

STATEMENTS FROM PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN AT THE MAWLID AL-NABI PROGRAM

With our prayers and acts of worship, we tried to feel and evaluate that blessed night in a manner befitting its meaning. I wish that the anniversary of the Birth of the Prophet brings goodness to our country, our nation, and all humanity. The Birth of the Prophet is the most beautiful manifestation of Almighty Allah's infinite mercy in this world. The birth of our Master into this world marked the beginning of humanity's rediscovery of its place in the universe, its purpose of creation, and its direction.

The love and affection for the Prophet has been the most precious heritage passed down from generation to generation in the hearts of believers. This devotion has held an exceptional place in the hearts of our nation since the very first day it was honored with Islam. Our ancestors served as the standard-bearers of the sublime religion of Islam for centuries and preserved their love for our Master with pure faith. Nihad Sami Banarlı says the following:

We have our people flocking to Istanbul, Ankara, and other big cities from various regions of Anatolia. They come with their families and work as doorkeepers, in domestic services, and other jobs in apartments. I learn their names. Especially women's names draw our attention: Gül, Gönlü Gül, Yazgülü, Gülşah, Gülşan, Güldalı, Güldâne, Gül'izar, Kırgülü, Gülbeyaz, and even sometimes as a male name: Gülbey.

I know why these rose-filled names, these beautiful names that turn our Anatolia into rose gardens, are given with such insistence. But I ask, pretending not to know:

- You must have many rose gardens in your parts... Do you grow many flowers in the gardens of village houses?

The woman named Güldalı replies:

– No sir, there are no flower gardens in our parts at all! We use the soil as fields.

– Then, do you give your daughters so many beautiful rose names because you long for the rose?

– No sir, what we long for is something else. In our parts, it is believed that the rose is the symbol of Prophet Muhammad.

Yes, it is no coincidence that a great poet like Yunus Emre, who said 'the rose is the sweat of Muhammad,' emerged from our nation and from these lands. Our loyalty to the Messenger of Allah is manifested not only in our national character but also in our language, literature, culture, and art. The Mawlid al-Sharif, poured from the heart of Süleyman Çelebi into couplets, is the common voice of the respect felt for our Master. The naats written by our poets, men of letters, and even our sultans addressing our Master are the most concise signs of our nation's dedication to the path of truth. One of those whose hearts burned with the love of the Prophet was our late master Mehmet Akif İnan. İnan expressed his devotion to our Master in these magnificent verses:

My charter of freedom is my wings

My land, my state, my flag are you

My matter, my meaning, my all are you

My horizon, my near, my far are you

My mother, my father, my ancestor, my brother, my child

My home, my hearth, my garden, and my vineyard are you

The voices on the lips of my heart

My time, my era, and my age are you

My hope, my jihad, my dawn are in you

My migration, my destination, my stop are you

Being with you is my covenant, my oath

My army, my commander, and my tent are you

I remember our Master, the Messenger of Allah, once again today with utmost respect. I say, may my Lord not separate us from the path of Muhammad, whose name is beautiful and who himself is beautiful. The sultan of hearts, he was distinguished by his morality and virtue. Above all, he was Muhammad al-Amin, the trustworthy one, from whom those around him felt secure. With his stance, demeanor, words, and life, he was the embodiment of perfect morality and the highest values.

Our Master, sent to perfect good morals, said in a hadith: 'My example and the example of the prophets before me is like a man who built a house and made it excellent and complete, except for the place of one brick left empty in a corner. People walk around the house, admire it, and say, "If only that brick had been put in its place." I am that brick, and I am the last of the prophets.'

\"WE ARE LIVING A HISTORICAL ERA WHERE THE GOOD WILL PREVAIL\"

As Muslims, we must take this morality as our guide both in our personal lives, in our work and family lives, and in our relations with society and nature. Under the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, we must place the commendable and good morals at the center of our lives. Each of us must embrace this faith and determination. Introducing our children and youth to the exemplary morality of our Master is a vital issue. In this way, we can convey to all humanity the values that sprout in our hearts, flourish in our families, and grow in our nation. Although the actors and scenarios change, we are living through a historical era where good and evil struggle, and in the end, the good will prevail.

\"ISRAEL TRIES EVERY KIND OF PROVOCATION\"

Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, and Somalia have been struggling with crises, wars, and instability for years. Innocent children are being deliberately targeted. Babies and children fall to the ground without knowing the world or understanding what is happening. Women, the elderly, and healthcare workers are being killed by bombs in civilian settlements. In Gaza, which the genocide network has turned into the world's largest children's cemetery, even kites are seen as a threat and prevented. In Palestine, people are struggling to survive without the most basic needs. In Lebanon, 1.3 million of our brothers and sisters have had to leave their homes, and more than 4,000 people have been killed. Over 12,000 Lebanese have been injured. Israel's current government, addicted to war, tries every kind of provocation to drag our entire region into instability.

\"THE WORLD IS NOT SHOWING THE NECESSARY REACTION TO THE GENOCIDE NETWORK\"

The radical, occupying, genocidal ideology called Zionism targets everyone who defends regional peace and humanitarian values. While drawing attention to Zionism's expansionist ambitions, we do so on behalf of all peoples, regardless of their faith, and on behalf of the front of humanity. In recent history, civilians had to pay the price for the cruelty of Hitler, Pol Pot, and other ruthless tyrants. Millions of people from different backgrounds and faiths were subjected to genocide. At that time, humanity only watched what was happening."}

"THERE IS GOOD IN ALLIANCE"

As Muslims, we cannot get anywhere by pinning our hopes on others. We must be strong and deterrent, defend our rights and laws together, and build security and peace together. For this reason, we say there is good in alliance, and we strive to expand alliances and reduce disputes both within ourselves and in the Islamic world. We desire the Ummah of Muhammad to be re-joined to each other like bricks of a wall. We want to walk towards the future shoulder to shoulder, heart to heart. Establishing alliance and unity is all our effort. Inshallah, to the extent of our power, we will continue to put our whole body, along with our hands, into the work for unity, for the establishment of brotherhood, and for the Islamic world to act in unity and solidarity.

In our own country, we essentially practice politics with this consciousness and seek ways to further strengthen the brotherhood and shared destiny of 86 million. I hope that throughout the week of Mawlid al-Nabi, our prophet's exemplary personality will be an occasion for the alliance and unity that the Ummah has prescribed. "
